India’s total number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed 4.49 crore as of Wednesday, with an additional 309 cases reported in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Union Health Ministry. The country’s active caseload now stands at 4,222, representing a mere 0.01% of the total infections.
The death toll has reached 5,31,870, with three new fatalities recorded. On a positive note, 588 individuals have successfully recovered from COVID-19 in the past day, contributing to a total recovery count of over 4.44 crore and a commendable recovery rate of 98.81%. Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Goa are currently the top five states reporting the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
