The nationwide vaccination drive has been going strong, with more than 220.66 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered so far. This includes 95.21 crore second doses and 22.86 crore precautionary doses. In the last 24 hours, 1,979 doses were administered across the country.
The active caseload in India is currently at 23,091, which stands at 0.05% of the total cases reported to date. There have been 2,508 recoveries in the last 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 4,41,79,712. A total of 4,435 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate is 3.38%, while the weekly positivity rate is 2.79%. With the increase in vaccination, more people are getting immunized and the number of cases is coming down. It is the need of the hour that the maximum number of people get vaccinated so that India can be free from the virus.
