According to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 535 new cases of coronavirus infection. However, there has been a decrease in active cases, which now stand at 6,168 as compared to the previous count of 6,591. The total death toll has risen to 5,31,854, with an additional five deaths reported. It is worth noting that three of these fatalities were reconciled by the state of Kerala. The overall Covid case tally in India now stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,88,426).
The active cases currently represent only 0.01 percent of the total infections, showcasing a positive trend. Furthermore, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has reached an impressive 98.80 percent, as per the data provided on the health ministry’s website. A significant number of individuals, totaling 4,44,50,404, have successfully recuperated from the disease. The case fatality rate remains at 1.18 percent, reflecting the severity of the virus.
India has been making significant strides in its vaccination efforts, with the administration of 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine across the country. This achievement has been made possible through the nationwide vaccination drive, ensuring a wide coverage and protection against the virus.
