6th Joint Staff Talks between India and Maldives held in New Delhi.

The 6th Joint Staff Talks between India and the Maldives were held in New Delhi on December 20, 2022. The meeting was conducted in a friendly, warm, and extremely cordial atmosphere.

The discussion focused on ongoing and new initiatives under the existing bilateral defense cooperation mechanism for all three services and how to further strengthen their engagement.

Air Vice Marshal Ashish Vohra, Assistant Chief of Integrated Defense Staff, Headquarters Integrated Defense Staff (HQ IDS), and Brigadier General Hameed Shafeeg, Commandant of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Service Corps, co-chaired the meeting.

The JST is a forum that promotes defense cooperation between India and Maldives through annual dialogue between HQ IDS and MNDF at strategic and operational levels.
