The Mahakumbh fairgrounds and Akharas were adorned with the colors of the Indian flag. Flag hoisting ceremonies were conducted at various Akharas, camps for devotees, and government offices. This fusion of devotion and patriotism brought a unique vibrancy to the festival.
Honoring Senior Citizens
A highlight of the celebration was the participation of senior citizens. The Uttar Pradesh government organized special flag hoisting programs at camps and old age homes within the Mahakumbh area, providing elderly devotees with a seamless experience.
At the Social Welfare Department’s camp, a heartfelt moment unfolded when 70-year-old Munni Devi from Mirzapur hoisted the flag, symbolizing inclusivity and unity.
Special Initiatives for the Elderly
A 100-bed ashram was set up for senior citizens, offering comfortable accommodation and easy access to the holy Sangam. Over 450 elderly devotees have benefited from this initiative, enabling them to partake in the spiritual and cultural festivities.

The celebration included patriotic songs, yoga sessions, and community events at Akharas and camps. These activities energized participants and reinforced the essence of unity.
