Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the inauguration ceremony of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, a testament to the enduring friendship between India and the UAE. The temple, representing the socio-spiritual Hindu faith of BAPS rooted in the Vedas, stands as a symbol of cultural richness and religious harmony.
The proposal for the Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi originated during PM Modi’s maiden visit to the UAE in 2015, culminating in the allocation of land for the BAPS temple. Ahead of the temple’s opening ceremony, Sadhu Brahmaviharidas acknowledged the significant role played by the benevolence and camaraderie of UAE leaders. He conveyed deep gratitude towards the rulers and officials of the UAE, underscoring the strong bond between PM Modi and the UAE leadership.
During the inaugural event, PM Modi highlighted the generosity of the UAE, with the Vice-president announcing land for a hospital for Indian workers in Dubai. PM Modi hailed this gesture as a fulfillment of the wishes of millions of Indians, symbolizing the warmth and goodwill between the two nations.
PM Modi envisioned the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi as a beacon of communal harmony and global unity. He noted the presence of UAE’s Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak, whose sentiments echoed the strengthening of shared aspirations and dreams.
The inauguration of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Abu Dhabi not only underscores the deep-rooted cultural ties between India and the UAE but also serves as a testament to the spirit of inclusivity and tolerance championed by both nations.
