Ahead of clash in Dubai, Rohit Sharma interacts with Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan have been given opportunities to strengthen their respective cases for spots in the Men’s T20 World Cup squad in Bumrah’s absence.

The Asia Cup 2022 will take place at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28, Sunday, with India set to take on Pakistan.

This is the 1st time that the arch-rivals will clash after the historic match in ICC T20 World Cup 2021, where Pakistan registered their first-ever win against bharat in the WC game by beating the Men in Blue by ten wickets.

The coach and captain are new, and everything has changed for Team India.

After the practice session, India skipper Rohit Sharma interacted with Pakistan’s Babar Azam ahead of the Sunday clash.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s official Twitter handle posted a video of the interaction with the caption, “C meets C #AsiaCup2022.”

Entering Sunday’s match, both India and Pakistan will be without their pace spearheads — Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Since Bumrah has a back injury and Afridi has a right knee ligament injury, they are both missing.

Afridi’s absence are felt by Islamic Republic of Pakistan as he picked up 3-31 in his four overs and have become ‘Player of the Match’ during a 10-wicket conclusion once the 2 groups last met within the comfort station T20 tourney in 2021. The venue is currently all equipped to host Sunday’s Asia Cup group A match.

Given Bumrah’s absence, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan have been given opportunities to strengthen their respective cases for spots in the Men’s T20 World Cup squad. Without Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr., Hasan Ali, who wasn’t in the original Asia Cup squad because of a dip in form, has been given a chance to show that he can still get a ticket to the World Cup, along with Haris Rauf, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mohammad Hasnain, and Naseem Shah.
