On the 11th of January Amit shah participated in the release of a book, ‘Revolutionaries: The other story of how India won its freedom’ written by Sanjeev Sanyal.

He said on Twitter, “Only one vision of freedom was always told to us, whereas many individuals, ideas, and organizations had valuable contributions in liberating the country. The book ‘Revolutionaries: The Other Story of How India Won Its Freedom’ is a good attempt to tell the armed movements for freedom”.

Amit Shah said, “If the parallel stream of armed revolution had not started in the country, then it would have taken more time for the country to become independent. The freedom movement was not evaluated from the Indian point of view and placed in front of the youth, but history was written by looking through the eyes of the British”.

He said, “The history may have been distorted but now historians should keep the glorious history of the country from reality. Be it the efforts of many people for freedom or the efforts made by Shivaji Maharaj after the revolution of 1857 to inculcate swaraj among the people, these efforts should get a proper place in history”.

Amit Shah said, “To date, the armed revolution has been paraded as sporadic, individual efforts but this book dispels this myth and identifies it as a coordinated movement. The book undulates the life of greats like Netaji, Veer Savarkar, and Sri Aurobindo who dreamed of making India Vishwaguru”.

He said, “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and INA did not get the respect and place they should have gotten in the history of the country. Netaji is that shining star who will continue to inspire many generations to become patriots. Today, seeing the statue of Netaji on the path of duty, the mind gets a lot of satisfaction”.

Amit Shah said, “The group of armed revolutionaries was trying to liberate the country under one ideology, we have to understand, accept and publicize that effort. The efforts of armed revolutionaries awakened the consciousness of freedom in the country, strengthened it and channelized it, and took it in one direction”.

He also said, “Be it farmers, litterateurs, people of tribal society across the country or armed revolutionaries, all of them have made a huge contribution in liberating the country. His movement may appear disorganized, but the goal of his movement inspired by patriotism was the independence of the country”.
