Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, extends heartfelt greetings to the sisters and brothers of Rajasthan on the occasion of Rajasthan Day, celebrating the state’s abundant cultural heritage and tales of bravery.
“Rajasthan is the epitome of culture, hospitality, and valor,” remarks Amit Shah. “The people, enriched by the courageous tales of individuals such as Maharana Pratap, Rao Jodha, Rani Padmini, and Hadi Rani, have left indelible marks of loyalty and sacrifice in the annals of the nation’s history.”
Highlighting the ongoing progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shah adds, “Under the guidance of Narendra Modi, Rajasthan is scaling new heights of development every day.”
Rajasthan Day, also known as the Foundation Day of Rajasthan, commemorates the amalgamation of princely states on March 30, 1949, forming the ‘Greater Rajasthan Union.’ This day pays tribute to the bravery, resilience, and sacrifices of the people of Rajasthan, while also showcasing the state’s rich cultural tapestry, including its folk arts, palaces, and cuisine.
Formerly known as Rajputana, Rajasthan derives its name from its princely legacy, signifying “place of kings.” The integration of Rajasthan occurred in seven phases, with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel playing a pivotal role in uniting the princely states.
As Rajasthan marks another milestone in its illustrious journey, Amit Shah’s warm wishes underscore the state’s enduring legacy, vibrant culture, and continued progress under visionary leadership. The day serves as a reminder of Rajasthan’s invaluable contributions to India’s cultural heritage and its unwavering commitment to national development.
