Amit Shah’s Response to CM Stalin’s Remarks: A Comparative Analysis of Development in Tamil Nadu

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, responded to Chief Minister Stalin’s remarks regarding the development of Tamil Nadu. Shah addressed the question raised by Stalin, highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government in the past nine years. He also drew a comparison with the previous UPA government, shedding light on the financial assistance provided to Tamil Nadu during their tenure.

Chief Minister Stalin’s Query on Modi’s Contribution

Chief Minister Stalin had raised a question regarding the development initiatives undertaken by the Modi government for Tamil Nadu during their nine-year tenure. This query sought to assess the impact of the central government’s efforts in addressing the needs and aspirations of the state.

Financial Assistance during the UPA Government

Amit Shah responded to Stalin’s question by providing a comparison of financial assistance between the previous UPA government and the current Modi government. During the UPA’s ten-year tenure from 2004 to 2014, Tamil Nadu received a devolution fund of Rs 95,000 crores. This grant-in-aid amounted to Rs 58,000 crores.

Narendra Modi’s Government: A Boost in Funding

In his response, Amit Shah highlighted the financial support provided by the Modi-led government to Tamil Nadu. According to Shah, in just nine years, Narendra Modi’s government allocated a significant amount of Rs 2,47,000 crores to the state. This allocation is more than four times the grant-in-aid received during the UPA government’s tenure.

Development Projects and Initiatives in Tamil Nadu

Apart from financial assistance, Amit Shah emphasized the various development projects and initiatives undertaken by the central government in Tamil Nadu. These include infrastructure development, investment in industrial sectors, expansion of connectivity, and promotion of tourism. Shah stressed that the aim is to propel the state’s overall growth and ensure the welfare of its people.
