Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM SM, And VSM Visit NCC Republic Day Camp 2023 At Delhi Cantt.

New Delhi: The Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM SM, VSM, visit the NCC Republic Day Camp 2023 at Delhi Cantt in New Delhi on 17 January 2023. This is the first time a CDS has visited the NCC Republic Day Camp.

An impressive “Guard of Honour” was presented to the Chief of Defence Staff by a contingent consisting of all three wings: Army, Navy, and Air Force. Afterwards, the NCC cadets put on an excellent band performance. The CDS also visited the ‘Flag Area’ prepared by the NCC cadets, which depicted various social awareness themes and cultural activities. He was briefed in detail about their respective State Directorate themes by the cadets.

The CDS also visited the recently renovated ‘Hall of Fame’, which is a proud possession of NCC with a display of the rich archival collection of alumni photographs, models, and motivational and other visual delights of the three wings of NCC.

The cadets put on a spectacular ‘Cultural Programme’ in the NCC auditorium for the Chief of Defence Staff and other distinguished guests.

On the occasion, the Chief of Defence Staff underscored that the NCC has grown from a humble beginning into a volunteer organization of 17 Lakh Cadets. He said that its contribution to inculcating the qualities of Discipline, Leadership and Camaraderie amongst the youth of this country is exemplary.

Chief of Defence Staff mentioned the ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, which was launched with the aim of cleaning up Sea Shores/Beaches, removing and recycling plastic/other waste, and spreading awareness about the need for clean and pristine beaches and the hazards of plastic pollution.

General Chauhan said that the drive has caught the imagination of the public and to date approximately 13.5 lakh NCC cadets have participated in the Abhiyan and collected almost 208 tons of plastic waste out of which 167 tons have been sent for recycling.

NCC was complimented by the CDS for its 75th year of selfless service to the nation. NCC cadets’ exceptional performance in various sports events was also applauded by him.
