Raghubar Das, born on May 3, 1955, is a notable figure in Indian politics, serving as the 26th Governor of Odisha. Prior to his gubernatorial role, Das held the position of the sixth Chief Minister of Jharkhand. His political journey is deeply rooted in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where he has held significant roles, including serving as the president of the Jharkhand BJP on two occasions.
Before entering politics, Das worked at Tata Steel and later ventured into public service. He represented the Jamshedpur East constituency in the legislative assembly for five consecutive terms from 1995 to 2019. During his tenure, Das also assumed pivotal roles such as Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister in the BJP-led government of Jharkhand.
