Apple has opened its 2nd office at Minsk Square, Bengaluru.

Bengaluru: In a move signaling a deepening commitment to India, Apple has opened its sprawling new office in Bengaluru, located at the vibrant Cubbon Road in Minsk Square, India’s Silicon Valley. The 15-floor office, inaugurated on January 17, is set to accommodate up to 1,200 employees and features cutting-edge facilities, emphasizing sustainability and innovation.

Situated at a prominent location, the office also boasts parking space for 740 cars, designated lab spaces, collaborative areas for wellness, and the renowned Caffe Macs. What sets this workspace apart is its commitment to environmental responsibility—the office operates entirely on 100 percent renewable energy and strives for the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, reflecting Apple’s dedication to sustainability.

The interiors of the office exhibit a blend of aesthetics and eco-conscious choices. Native plants dot the surroundings, while walls and flooring feature locally sourced wood, stone, and fabrics. Apple’s emphasis on creating a sustainable, green workspace aligns with its global initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

“Expressing excitement about the new office, Apple stated, “It is thrilled to expand in India with our new office in the heart of Bengaluru.”

Bengaluru stands as one of the key locations where Apple’s diverse teams, spanning software, hardware, services, IS&T, operations, and customer support, operate. With offices already established in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram, Apple’s presence in Bengaluru further strengthens its footprint in India.

“Currently employing over 3,000 individuals in the country, Apple’s investment in the Indian market has been notably robust. In 2023, the company opened two physical stores in India, one in BKC and another in Saket, reflecting its strategic approach to tap into the country’s growing consumer base”.

As Apple fortifies its presence in India, recent market dynamics reveal a significant shift. For the first time since 2010, Apple’s iPhone series surpassed Samsung Electronics Co. devices as the best-selling smartphone series globally in 2023. With approximately 235 million shipments, the iPhone claimed a fifth of the global market, according to research firm IDC. Samsung, facing double-digit slumps, secured the second position, outpacing Chinese device makers like Xiaomi Corp.

Apple’s new office in Bengaluru symbolizes not just a physical expansion but a commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and connection in the heart of India’s tech landscape. The simultaneous success in the smartphone market reinforces Apple’s position as a global tech leader and a key player in India’s dynamic business environment.
