Army Medical Corps celebrates 260th Raising Day

Army Medical Corps: The Army Medical Corps (AMC) celebrated its 260th Raising Day on April 3, 2024, marking a significant milestone in its illustrious history of dedicated service to the nation. Established in the year 1764, the Corps has steadfastly upheld its motto of ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya’ (let all be free from disease), exemplifying professionalism, courage, and compassion in every aspect of its operations.

The Raising Day event, held in New Delhi, was graced by the presence of Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, who joined in honoring the achievements and celebrating the Esprit-de-Corps of the AMC. More than 700 veterans of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) and distinguished civil and service dignitaries attended the event, which served as a platform to acknowledge the Corps’ remarkable contributions over the centuries.

A poignant video highlighting the distinguished achievements of the Armed Forces Medical Services, including its role in UN Peacekeeping Missions and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) activities on foreign soil, was screened during the event. This tribute underscored the Corps’ unwavering commitment to providing optimal medical care to Armed Forces personnel, their families, and veterans, both in times of conflict and peace.

The Army Medical Corps’s 260th Raising Day not only commemorates its rich legacy but also serves as a reminder of the countless Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and other ranks who have selflessly served the nation with distinction. Their dedication and sacrifice have left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals, reflecting the Corps’ unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Armed Forces community.

As the AMC embarks on its 260th year, it remains steadfast in its mission to enhance combat medical care and deliver state-of-the-art healthcare services. With a focus on professionalism, courage, and compassion, the Corps continues to march towards its ultimate goal of building a healthy and resilient India (‘Swastha Bharat, Viksit Bharat’), embodying the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines the Army Medical Corps.
