Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his satisfaction as compensatory cheques totaling Rs 137.77 crore were distributed to several beneficiaries whose lands were acquired by the ADG PI – Indian Army for setting up the Gamrala field firing range.
Addressing the gathering, Khandu stated, “Each beneficiary, hailing from Sero village of Tawang constituency, received a cheque of Rs 46.39 lakh.” This significant step aims to provide fair compensation to those affected by land acquisition for strategic purposes.
The distribution program took place in the esteemed presence of notable dignitaries, including Honorable Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi, Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik Affairs (DoKAA) Chairperson Shri Jambey Wangdi Ji, District Commissioner Shri Kangki Darang, and Superintendent of Police Shri DW Thungon.
The compensation distribution marks a significant milestone in the efforts to mitigate the impact of land acquisition on the affected population. It reaffirms the government’s resolve to uphold the rights and welfare of its citizens while simultaneously advancing strategic projects for national security and development.
