Chief Minister Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh marked the 89th birthday of His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama with a symbolic gesture at Urgelling, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Tree saplings were planted to honor the Dalai Lama’s legacy of peace, compassion, and environmental stewardship.
“These saplings symbolize our commitment to His Holiness’s enduring message,” stated Chief Minister Khandu, emphasizing the importance of preserving the environment and embodying the Dalai Lama’s teachings in daily life.
The ceremony, attended by local officials and residents, aims to cultivate a lasting tribute to the Dalai Lama’s profound influence. Chief Minister Khandu expressed hopes that the trees would thrive, serving as a living testament to the spiritual leader’s timeless wisdom and global impact.
