Ashok Gehlot Extends a Warm Welcome to PM Modi in Rajasthan and Puts Forward Key Demands via Twitter.

In a notable turn of events, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot extended a warm welcome to Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi during his visit to Rajasthan. However, Mr. Gehlot expressed his regret that his pre-scheduled 3-minute address was removed from the program. Despite this, he graciously conveyed his heartfelt welcome through a tweet, embracing the significance of social media platforms in contemporary communication.

Collaboration between Rajasthan Government and the Centre for Medical Colleges

During the visit, the Chief Minister acknowledged the successful collaboration between the Rajasthan government and the Centre in establishing 12 medical colleges. These prestigious medical institutions are a testament to the fruitful partnership between the two entities. The total project cost for these medical colleges stands at a commendable Rs 3,689 crore, with the central government contributing Rs 2,213 crore and the state government providing Rs 1,476 crore. Mr. Gehlot conveyed his felicitations on behalf of the state government, cherishing this milestone achievement.

Key Demands Presented Through Twitter

With the limitations on his speech at the event, Mr. Gehlot decided to leverage the power of Twitter to present some crucial demands to PM Modi. Through his tweet, the Chief Minister placed the following demands before the Honorable Prime Minister, hoping for their consideration and implementation during this 7th Yatra:

1. Youth Recruitment in the Army: Mr. Gehlot stressed the importance of continuing the permanent recruitment in the army, particularly for the youth of Rajasthan, especially in Shekhawati. He urged the withdrawal of the Agniveer scheme to ensure opportunities for the state’s young and talented individuals to serve in the armed forces.

2. Waiver of Farmers’ Loans: The Rajasthan government has shown its commitment to the welfare of farmers by waiving loans amounting to Rs 15,000 crore for 21 lakh farmers associated with cooperative banks. Mr. Gehlot presented a one-time settlement proposal to the central government, seeking the waiver of loans from nationalized banks, with the state government pledging to contribute to the farmers’ share.

3. Resolution for Caste Census: The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly has already passed a resolution advocating for a caste census. Mr. Gehlot urged the Central Government to promptly address this issue and make a decision without any delay, recognizing the significance of comprehensive data on caste demographics.

4. Financial Assistance for Medical Colleges: Mr. Gehlot highlighted a pressing concern regarding the lack of financial assistance from the central government due to NMC (National Medical Commission) guidelines for medical colleges being opened in three districts. These colleges, designed to cater to tribal-dominated areas, are solely being funded by the state. He urged the central government to extend 60% of funding for these medical institutions to ensure their sustainable growth.

5. Recognition of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project: Lastly, the Chief Minister appealed to the Prime Minister to grant the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) the status of a project of national importance. Recognizing the transformative potential of this project, he emphasized the need for support and acknowledgment at the national level.

A Positive Stand on the Demands

Concluding his tweet, Mr. Gehlot expressed his hope that PM Modi would take a positive stand on these vital demands and assure the state of their resolution. The occasion of the Prime Minister’s visit was seen as an opportune moment to bring these matters to the forefront and foster constructive dialogue for the betterment of Rajasthan and its citizens.

In essence, Ashok Gehlot’s tweet serves as a concise yet impactful medium to voice his concerns and aspirations for the state, and it underscores the importance of utilizing various channels of communication in modern-day politics.
