Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has praised the Karimganj Police for their proactive efforts in combating drug trafficking with two successful anti-narcotic operations.
In the first operation, police intercepted a vehicle transporting 806 kilograms of Ganja, resulting in the apprehension of one individual involved in the illegal trade.
Simultaneously, in another operation based on intelligence inputs, the Karimganj Police seized 10,000 YABA tablets valued at ₹3.5 crore. One person was apprehended in connection with this significant drug bust.
“Commendable work Assam police!” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the police force’s diligence and effectiveness in dismantling narcotics networks operating within the state in a tweet.
These operations underscore Assam’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking and ensuring public safety. The swift actions by law enforcement agencies reflect ongoing efforts to maintain law and order while tackling illicit drug activities across the region.
