Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking with a significant seizure at DholaiKhal. The Chief Minister revealed that the Cachar Police, leveraging their robust intelligence network, apprehended 139 soap cases containing suspected heroin, totaling approximately 1.700 kilograms.
The seizure, valued at an estimated ₹8.5 crore, underscores the state government’s unwavering commitment to combatting the drug menace. Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the diligent efforts of the Cachar Police, emphasizing the importance of intelligence-driven operations in curbing illegal drug activities.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s stance of zero tolerance towards drug trafficking and affirmed continued efforts to dismantle such networks. The successful operation at DholaiKhal sends a clear message that Assam is resolute in its pursuit to safeguard its citizens from the perils of drug abuse.
As investigations into the case progress, authorities are determined to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the illicit drug trade. The Chief Minister urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in their endeavors to maintain peace and security in the state.
