Born on November 5, 1992, Athiya Shetty is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi films. Actor Suniel Shetty is her father. Shetty began her acting career in the romantic action film Hero 2015. She won an International Indian Film Academy Award for Hottest Pair with Sooraj Pancholi and was nominated for the Filmfare award for Best Female Debut. She has starred in Mubarakan (2017) and Motichoor Chaknachoor (2019) since 2017.
Shetty studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School before moving to the American School of Bombay. While there, she participated in school plays with Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. She wanted to act in films, so she relocated alone to New York City and enrolled at the New York Film Academy.
