Beneficiaries in Meerut Receive Accident Insurance Under UP Government’s Scheme

On August 28, 2023, at 3:00 PM, a significant event unfolded on the fourth floor of Rajya Kar Bhawan, Mangal Pandey Nagar, University Road, Meerut. This event marked a step towards providing support and security to beneficiaries in Meerut through the accident insurance scheme initiated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh for GST-registered traders in the state.

“Organized by the State Tax Department (GST) in association with Laghu Udyog Bharti, Meerut, the camp focused on extending the benefits of the Chief Minister Traders Accident Insurance Scheme to traders in the region. The scheme aims to provide a safety net to traders in case of accidents, ensuring that their families are financially supported during challenging times”.

Rupak Jain, the media in-charge of Laghu Udyog Bharti, emphasized the importance of the event, noting that the beneficiaries received financial assistance of Rs 1,000,000 as part of the Chief Minister’s Merchant Accident Insurance. This initiative was received with gratitude by the traders and business owners present, who recognized the value of such schemes in providing crucial assistance to families in need.

“During the event, Rajkumar Sharma, Divisional President of Laghu Udyog Bharti Meerut, along with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath, expressed their appreciation for the support provided by the Bharatiya Janata Party government. This scheme has proven to be a lifeline for the dependent families of entrepreneurs and businessmen, contributing significantly to their livelihoods”.

Additionally, the camp advocated for a practical approach by urging entrepreneurs to halt the sending of notices for 2017-18 first-year GST cases. This suggestion was based on the understanding that the initial year of GST implementation was rushed, leading to minor deficiencies in return submission due to a lack of information.

The event was graced by the presence of individuals such as Rupak Jain, Ankur Jain, Mukesh, and others. Their participation underscores the significance of schemes like the accident insurance initiative in fostering a supportive environment for traders and small business owners, ultimately contributing to the growth and well-being of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
