Municipal Councillor

During his political career, Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel actively contributed to the development of Memnagar Nagarpalika as a member during the periods of 1995-1996, 1999-2000, and 2004-2006. Patel’s leadership qualities were recognized when he became the President of Memnagar Nagarpalika in 1999-2000. Additionally, he held the position of Vice Chairman of the school board of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from 2008 to 2010. His dedication and effective governance were evident during his tenure as the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) from 2015 to 2017. Member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly

In 2017, Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel contested the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections and emerged victorious from the Ghatlodia constituency, defeating his opponent from the Indian National Congress by a record margin of 117,000 votes. He continued to represent Ghatlodia in subsequent elections, winning again in the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections.

First Term (2021-2022)

Following the resignation of Vijay Rupani as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on September 11, 2021, Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel was unanimously elected as the BJP legislative party leader and the Chief Minister-elect in a party legislature meeting held on September 12, 2021, in Gandhinagar. He was officially sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on September 13, 2021, assuming office with a vision to accelerate the state’s progress.
