The event will feature speaker sessions by utility officials highlighting consumer rights to electricity, the benefits of electricity, and the challenges faced during electrification in remote areas, as well as how the condition of life improves with access to power.
A quiz competition and Nukkad Natak were held to impart knowledge on subjects such as consumer rights of electricity, energy conservation, and the benefits of electricity.
The event will conclude with the distribution of LED bulbs as prizes to the winners of the competitions.
As a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – to celebrate 75 years of Independence, REC Limited, a Maharatna Company under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.
The Government of India organized ‘Bijli Utsav’ in Anandpur village and surrounding villages in the Baksa district of Assam. Several dignitaries like Mr. Katiram Boro, Chairman – of Bodoland Territorial Council, and Dr. Ashraful Amin – Addl. Deputy Commissioner – Baksa, Shri Khagendranath Sarania, Principal – Anandpur Primary School, Shri Nagen Chandra Das, Retd. Principal – Nehru Zonal High School, Shri Manasjyoti Pathak, AGM (RE) Box – Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), and officials from REC Regional Office at Guwahati were present on the occasion.
Highlighting the consumer rights of electricity, the benefits of electricity, and the challenges faced during electrification in remote areas, the event saw speaker sessions by dignitaries and esteemed guests.
They discussed how access to power improves the quality of life. The beneficiaries from the villages were also invited to share their experience and views on stage about how electricity has transformed their lives.
Various competitions and cultural programs were held to engage the villagers and children. Nukkad Natak was also performed to impart knowledge on subjects such as consumer rights, energy conservation, and the benefits of electricity. After the event concluded, the winners of the competitions were given LED bulbs and geometry boxes as prizes.
