UP Scholarship: The government of Uttar Pradesh has mandated Aadhar-based biometric attendance to prevent fraud in scholarship and fee reimbursement schemes. This initiative aims to ensure transparency and accuracy in the disbursement process.
UP Scholarship: Implementation in Backward Classes Welfare Department
Starting this academic session, the Backward Classes Welfare Department will be the first to adopt this system. This move marks a significant step towards enhancing the integrity of scholarship distribution.
Initial Phase Target: Post Matric Scholarship Scheme
In the first phase, the biometric attendance system will be implemented in the Group-I syllabus of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. This targeted approach will allow the government to monitor and evaluate the system’s effectiveness.
Expansion to All Departments by 2025-26
From the academic session 2025-26, the Aadhar-based biometric attendance system will be extended to all scholarship and fee reimbursement schemes across various departments, including Social Welfare. This comprehensive rollout aims to eliminate fraudulent activities and ensure that benefits reach deserving students.
