The meeting comes as the vote counting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is underway. According to the latest data from the Election Commission of India, the BJP-led NDA is leading in 295 seats, while the Congress party is leading in 94 seats.
This is not the first time the BJP leaders have met at JP Nadda’s residence. A similar meeting was held on Monday, a day before the final results were to be announced. The leaders are expected to discuss the party’s strategy and plan of action based on emerging trends.
The BJP is currently short of the majority mark of 272 seats, but the NDA alliance is inching closer to the magic number. The opposition INDIA bloc, on the other hand, is putting up a strong fight, defying the exit poll predictions.
The final results are eagerly awaited as they will determine the shape of the next government at the Center. The BJP is seeking a historic third consecutive term, while the INDIA alliance is aiming to unseat the ruling party.
