Despite being rushed to a private hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.

The last rites of M.B. Bhanuprakash are scheduled to be held at Mattur village in Shivamogga taluk. Bhanuprakash had served the BJP in various capacities, including state vice president and district unit president. Known as the Brahmin face of Karnataka BJP, he maintained a strong rapport with former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
