Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who represents Udhampur in the Lok Sabha, addressed the state of affairs regarding the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, emphasizing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) readiness for elections while deferring to the Election Commission (EC) for the final call.
“The BJP is always ready for elections. Whether it is panchayat, Assembly, or Parliament elections, we are prepared,” stated Singh during a press interaction at an event.
He emphasized that the decision on when to hold the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls lies entirely with the Election Commission. This reaffirms the democratic process and the EC’s role in conducting free and fair elections.
Additionally, Singh noted significant improvements in the region’s situation over the past few years. He pointed out the absence of incidents like stone-pelting, a positive sign for the peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. He also highlighted the flourishing state of tourism, with houseboats and hotels welcoming a growing number of tourists.
Moreover, Singh underscored the vital role that Jammu and Kashmir can play in India’s development and growth, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the nation’s future. Prime Minister Modi has expressed his belief that India will emerge as a powerful global entity in the next 25 years, and Singh noted that the region has a crucial part to play in this journey.
“The prime minister says India will emerge as a powerful nation in the world in the next 25 years, and in that journey of development, Jammu and Kashmir has an important role to play,” stated Singh, emphasizing the state’s potential contribution to India’s progress.
