Boeing has offered its condolences following a tragic incident on a Boeing 777 aircraft that resulted in the death of a 73-year-old British man and injuries to 30 other passengers. The company stated their “thoughts are with the passengers and crew.”
The incident occurred when the plane experienced a sudden drop of 6000 feet, causing severe turbulence. A passenger recounted the terrifying experience: “Suddenly the aircraft started tilting up and there was shaking, so I started bracing. Then there was a dramatic drop, and everyone not wearing a seatbelt was launched into the ceiling.”
The turbulence was so intense that some passengers hit their heads on the overhead baggage compartments, causing dents and breaking through the sections where lights and oxygen masks are located. Boeing is cooperating with authorities to investigate the cause of this incident and ensure the safety of future flights.
