The government of Uttar Pradesh reported a remarkable 45.76% increase in visitors to Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Varanasi up to June 2024 compared to the first half of 2023. This surge in tourist footfall is attributed to the improved facilities and the spiritual and cultural appeal of the newly inaugurated site.
Increased Revenue Generation
In addition to the rise in visitors, the government highlighted a 24.66% increase in revenue for Varanasi. The enhanced infrastructure, better connectivity, and various amenities have not only attracted more tourists but also boosted local businesses, contributing to the city’s economic growth.

The success of Kashi Vishwanath Dham’s inauguration sets a positive precedent for future development projects in Varanasi.
