In a testament to the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat on December 17th. - Train Flagging Off: Prime Minister Modi will also flag off the Kanyakumari – Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train, symbolizing the cultural journey that participants will undertake.
- Diverse Delegation: Approximately 1400 participants, organized into seven groups representing various walks of life, will embark on a journey from different parts of Tamil Nadu to Kashi. These groups, named after sacred rivers, will bring together students, teachers, professionals, spiritual leaders, farmers, artisans, writers, traders, and businessmen.
- Itinerary: The second phase of Kashi Tamil Sangamam will span from December 17th to December 30th, 2023, featuring a diverse itinerary. Participants will visit Prayagraj and Ayodhya, immersing themselves in the cultural tapestry of these sacred cities.
- Collaborative Efforts: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, will serve as the nodal agency, collaborating with various ministries and institutions such as Culture, Tourism, Railways, Textiles, Food Processing, MSME, Information and broadcasting, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, IRCTC, IIT Madras, and Banaras Hindu University.
Cultural Exchange and Collaborative Initiatives:
The event’s agenda extends beyond travel, incorporating seminars, discussions, lectures, and exhibitions. Stalls showcasing the art, culture, handlooms, handicrafts, and cuisine of Tamil Nadu and Kashi will be set up, providing a platform for cultural exchange. Cultural programs blending the traditions of both regions will take place at Namo Ghat in Kashi.
