The government has made budgetary provisions to reimburse the entire tuition fee paid by cadets who join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Technical Entry Scheme, or the Naval Academy. Additionally, the government awards Defence Scholarships and provides Central assistance to the students who are awarded State Government scholarships.
In response to the representations received from parents of cadets, the Sainik Schools Society instructed the schools not to increase the tuition fee for the academic session 2020-21, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the new Sainik Schools approved under the partnership mode, the fee structure is regulated by the respective state or union territory. The government will provide annual fee assistance of 50% of the fee, up to a limit of Rs. 40,000 per annum, for 50% of the class strength, up to a limit of 50 students, on a merit-cum-means basis.
