Building Unity: Ayodhya’s Narrative of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

From the snow-capped peaks of Kashmir to the sun-drenched beaches of Kanyakumari, the resonance of Ram’s name has intricately woven a tapestry of devotion across India. This devotion now takes tangible form in the historic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, standing majestically as a symbol of India’s unity and devotion. It goes beyond grandeur, encompassing contributions from various states and borders, resonating deeply with PM Modi’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative.

The core of the temple, adorned in the pristine white elegance of Rajasthan’s Makrana marble, stands tall. Karnataka’s Charmouthi sandstone takes center stage in the exquisite carvings of deities, while the imposing figures at the entrance gate are crafted from pink sandstone sourced from Rajasthan’s Bansi Paharpur. Contributions extend beyond building materials, as Gujarat generously offers a divine 2100 kg Ashtadhatu bell and a 700 kg chariot with a special ‘nagada’ crafted by the All India Darbar Samaj.

Lord Ram’s idol is sculpted from black stone originating from Karnataka, while Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura provide intricately carved wooden doors and handcrafted fabrics from the Himalayan foothills. Additional contributions include brassware from Uttar Pradesh and polished teakwood from Maharashtra. The narrative of the Ram Mandir goes beyond materials and geographical origins, encapsulating the talents of countless craftsmen and artisans who poured their hearts, souls, and skills into this sacred endeavor.

The Ram Mandir is not merely a monument in Ayodhya; it stands as a living testament to the unifying power of faith. Each stone, carving, bell, and fabric narrates a story of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,’ transcending geographical boundaries and uniting hearts in a collective spiritual journey.
