Chhattisgarh CM Pays Tribute to Warrior Queen Rani Durgavati

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid a respectful tribute to the great warrior queen Rani Durgavati on her sacrifice day. He lauded her heroic defense of her motherland, highlighting her valor and courage. “She sacrificed her life to protect the motherland and wrote a new chapter of bravery with her valor and courage,” he said. CM Sai emphasized that her bravery and sacrifice will forever inspire the countrymen.

Rani Durgavati (5 October 1524 – 24 June 1564) was the queen regent of Gondwana from 1550 until her death in 1564. Born in the fortress of Kalinjar to the Chandela Rajput king Shalbaham of Mahoba, she married King Dalpat Shah of Gondwana in 1542, strengthening the alliance between the Chandelas and the Rajgonds. As regent for her son Vir Narayan, she is chiefly remembered for her staunch defense against the Mughal Empire, marking her place in history as a symbol of resistance and courage.
