Chief of Defence Staff Visits NCC Republic Day Camp 2024

NCC Republic Day Camp 2024: General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), graced the NCC Republic Day Camp 2024 at Delhi Cantt on January 12, 2024. The visit commenced with a warm reception by DG NCC, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, and featured a series of events showcasing the talents and discipline of the National Cadet Corps.

The Chief of Defence Staff began the visit by reviewing an impressive ‘Guard of Honour’ presented by cadets from all three Wings of NCC – Army, Navy, and Air Force. The drill was followed by a captivating band display by the girl Cadets of BITS, Pilani.

In his address, General Anil Chauhan lauded the cadets for their outstanding performance, emphasizing the significance of NCC’s motto, ‘Unity & Discipline.’ He acknowledged NCC’s remarkable journey from modest beginnings to becoming the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, boasting over 17 lakh cadets.

Highlighting NCC’s role in fostering qualities of discipline, leadership, and camaraderie among the youth, the CDS praised the cadets for their contributions to nation-building activities. He commended their involvement in initiatives like ‘International Yoga Day,’ ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ and ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan.’ The General also applauded NCC cadets’ achievements in sports, adventure activities, and notable competitions such as the Subroto Cup and Jawahar Lal Nehru Hockey Championship.

Encouraging the cadets, General Chauhan advised them to strive for excellence and maintain an optimistic outlook on success and failure. The CDS further inspected a ‘Flag Area,’ creatively prepared by cadets from all 17 NCC Directorates, showcasing various social awareness themes. He received briefings on the models from the cadets.

The visit concluded with a spectacular ‘Cultural Programme’ presented by talented NCC cadets in the NCC auditorium, leaving a lasting impression on the Chief of Defence Staff and other distinguished guests present at the event.
