Tikrikilla: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma marked another significant milestone with his visit to Tikrikilla to inaugurate the MeghFarm Processing Hub and Tikrikilla PRIME Hub. Addressing the gathering, Sangma highlighted the pressing issue of agricultural wastage, which has been causing substantial losses to farmers across the Garo Hills region.
“The MeghFarm Processing Hub, boasting a capacity of 80 to 100 tons, will play a pivotal role in curbing agricultural wastage by preserving produce to the highest standards,” stated Sangma. He emphasized that the hub’s advanced technology, including a juice plant, dehydration plant, blast freezer, and other equipment, will ensure the maintenance of quality standards and enhance market value.
In addition to addressing agricultural challenges, Sangma unveiled plans for the Tikrikilla PRIME Hub, designed as a center for innovation, incubation, and skill development for aspiring entrepreneurs. “Through mentorship support and innovative programs, the PRIME Hub aims to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of our youth,” affirmed Sangma.
The inauguration of these hubs underscores the government’s commitment to fostering agricultural sustainability and entrepreneurial growth in the region. With the MeghFarm Processing Hub ensuring efficient utilization of agricultural produce and the Tikrikilla PRIME Hub nurturing entrepreneurial talent, Tikrikilla is poised for socio-economic advancement under Sangma’s leadership.
