In a message brimming with warmth, CM Dhami expressed, “I wish Baba Kedar a healthy, prosperous, and happy life for you.”
JP Nadda, born on December 2, 1960, is not just a seasoned politician but a key figure in the landscape of Indian politics. Currently serving as the 11th President of the BJP since 2020, Nadda’s influence extends beyond party leadership. He has been a member of the Rajya Sabha representing Himachal Pradesh since 2012 and previously held the position of BJP’s working president from 2019 to 2020.
“JP Nadda’s political journey includes a significant tenure as the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the 1st Modi ministry from 2014 to 2019. His role as the Parliamentary Board Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party has also contributed to shaping the party’s strategies and decisions”.
Before his national roles, JP Nadda showcased his leadership skills in Himachal Pradesh, where he served as an MLA from Bilaspur from 1993 to 2003 and then from 2007 to 2012. During this period, he held the portfolios of Forest, Environment, Science and Technology, and later, Health and Family Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs in the (HP) Himachal Pradesh Government.
“Delving into his personal life, JP Nadda was born in Patna, Bihar, into the family of Narain Lall Nadda and Krishna Nadda, with roots deeply embedded in Himachal Pradesh. He received his education at St. Xavier’s School, Patna, followed by earning his B.A. from Patna College, Patna University, and LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla”.
Beyond his political endeavors, JP Nadda showcased his talents in sports during his childhood, representing Bihar in the All India Junior Swimming Championship held in Delhi. In 1991, he tied the knot with Mallika Nadda (née Banerjee), and the couple has been blessed with two sons. Nadda’s family also has a political legacy, with his mother-in-law, Jayashree Banerjee, being elected to the Lok Sabha in 1999.
