CM Shinde: Maharashtra has signed MoUs worth ₹3.53 lakh crore at WEF

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared a triumph for the state at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, revealing the sealing of memorandums of undertaking (MoUs) worth an astounding Rs 3,53,675 crore. This significant achievement was lauded by Shinde, who expressed gratitude to investors for their confidence, citing an impressive Rs 1 lakh crore earmarked for Maharashtra.

In a statement released late Wednesday night, Shinde emphasized the potential impact of these MoUs, estimating the creation of over 2 lakh jobs within the state. The Chief Minister underscored the commitment to tangible implementation, stressing a remarkable acceleration in growth compared to the previous year.

The first day of the Davos conference witnessed the signing of investment agreements totaling Rs 1,02,000 crore with six industries, promising 26,000 job opportunities. On the second day, January 17, agreements worth Rs 2,08,850 crore were inked with eight industries, projecting an impressive 1,51,900 job opportunities.

Shinde further revealed plans for the signing of MoUs worth Rs 42,825 crore with six industries on January 18, set to create an additional 13,000 jobs. The Chief Minister actively engaged with industry leaders at the Maharashtra Hall in Davos, holding discussions with Gautam Adani of the Adani Group on potential infrastructure investments. Meetings with senior industrialist Lakshmi Mittal and Liechtenstein’s prince were also convened to explore future investment cooperation.

This unprecedented success at WEF Davos 2024 solidifies Maharashtra’s standing as an investment hotspot, showcasing its people-centric approach, strong industrialization focus, and rapid decision-making capabilities. The commitment from global industries signifies a promising trajectory for the state’s economic growth and job creation.
