CM Yogi Adityanath announces the construction of Kalyan Mandap, the poor got a new gift

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a significant step towards uplifting the underprivileged and promoting sports activities in Gorakhpur. During his recent visit to the city, he announced the construction of six Kalyan Mandaps and laid the foundation stone for a Mini Sports Complex, aiming to address the needs of the people and provide them with better facilities.

Kalyan Mandaps for Auspicious Programs

Recognizing the challenges faced by the poor when organizing matrimonial and auspicious events, CM Yogi Adityanath proposed the establishment of Kalyan Mandaps. Currently, marriages and other celebrations in urban areas are often conducted by erecting tents on roadsides, causing inconvenience to the public. To address this issue, the Municipal Corporation and Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) have received instructions to establish Kalyan Mandaps.

The Kalyan Mandap will be well-equipped with essential amenities, such as halls, rooms, guest rooms, parking areas, and lawns, capable of accommodating 250-300 people. The initial plan is to build such venues at six different locations within Gorakhpur City. The government estimates the cost of setting up each Kalyan Mandap to range between Rs. 1 to 1.5 crore. This initiative aims to provide a suitable and dignified space for the underprivileged to perform their auspicious events, ensuring their convenience and comfort.

CM Yogi’s appeal to all public representatives to join this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive development and providing essential amenities to every citizen.

Mini Sports Complex: A Gift for the Youth

In addition to promoting social welfare, CM Yogi Adityanath also laid the foundation stone for a Mini Sports Complex, a gift to the youth of eastern Uttar Pradesh. The sports complex will serve as a multi-purpose platform for various sports activities, including badminton, basketball, lawn tennis, and running tracks, among others. It will also feature a playground, a multi-purpose hall, and a park, creating a conducive environment for sports enthusiasts to hone their skills and showcase their talents.

As part of the state government’s broader vision to promote sports and empower the youth, around 150 acres of land have been allocated for the construction of an International Stadium in Gorakhpur.

Expanding Sports Facilities Across the State

CM Yogi emphasized the government’s commitment to sports development by rapidly progressing the construction work of one stadium in each district, mini stadiums in every development block, and sports grounds in every gram panchayat across Uttar Pradesh. This comprehensive approach seeks to provide ample opportunities for sports enthusiasts at all levels, encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among the youth.
