Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has hailed a historic milestone as Lucknow’s renowned Dussehri mangoes make their way to American markets for the first time. Speaking proudly, CM Yogi emphasized the economic advantages for farmers as the mangoes fetch a considerably higher price abroad.
He remarked, “In India, mango prices range from ₹60 to ₹100 per kilogram. However, when these same Dussehri mangoes reach the US market, their price can soar to ₹900 per kilogram. After factoring in duties, cargo costs, and airfare from India, the final price could reach ₹250 to ₹300 per kilogram, resulting in substantial savings for our farmers and orchardists.”
The initiative underscores Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural potential and the global appeal of its produce, particularly the celebrated Dussehri mango variety known for its unique taste and quality. CM Yogi Adityanath expressed optimism that such ventures would not only boost the income of farmers but also enhance the state’s reputation as a key player in international agricultural trade.
The development marks a significant step towards expanding Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural exports and showcasing its premium produce on a global stage.
