CM Yogi Clarifies Flood Plain Zone Rules and Assures Fair Compensation

Flood Plain Zone: CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized the government’s responsibility for the safety and satisfaction of all residents, whether in Pantnagar or Indraprasthanagar in Lucknow. He reassured families affected by the Kukrail River Revival Project that there was no justification for marking private houses and that accountability for this action would be established.

Addressing Fear and Confusion

Yogi Adityanath directed concerned officials to meet with the affected residents to alleviate their fears and confusion. He stressed the importance of developing public facilities in the area to ensure the well-being of the community during the project.

Clarifying Flood Plain Zone Rules

The Chief Minister clarified that the floodplain zone had been marked according to orders and rules issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), which includes private land. He assured that there is no need or proposal to vacate the area, and there is no consideration for demolishing private buildings currently in the floodplain zone.

Ensuring Fair Compensation and No New Construction

Yogi Adityanath stated that no new construction would be allowed in the flood plain zone without permission from the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). He ordered the removal of signs placed on buildings during floodplain zone marking and assured that any privately owned land acquired in the river bed would receive adequate compensation according to the rules. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the interests, satisfaction, and convenience of every citizen.
