CM Yogi pays tribute to Rajendranath Lahiri on his martyrdom day.

Yogi said On the 15th of December, “A humble tribute to the great revolutionary of ‘Kakori Train Action’, the immortal son of Mother India, Rajendranath Lahiri on his martyrdom day in the series of battles fought for India’s independence”.

Rajendranath Lahiri, who was born on 29 June 1901 and died on 17 December 1927, was an important freedom fighter in India’s freedom struggle. Lahiri, a young revolutionary, is the prime accused in the Kakori incident and is famous for it.

He was a prominent member of the Hindustan Republican Association, which aimed to free India from British slavery.

He was the mastermind behind the Kakori train robbery on 8 August 1925. He was arrested and tried in the previous bomb case of Dakshineswar in Bengal and sent to jail for ten years of rigorous imprisonment.

He was tried with several other revolutionaries in the Kakori conspiracy case when the legal proceedings started for the train robbery in Lucknow.
