CM Yogi’s Diwali Surprise: Primary Teachers in UP Will Receive a Significant Gift

The onset of November heralds promising news for primary educators in Uttar Pradesh, with the Yogi government unveiling a significant initiative as a Diwali gift. As per recent information, the government has drafted a promotion plan scheduled for completion by November 8, extending the opportunity for promotion to teachers selected under the assistant teacher recruitment drive.

Eligibility Criteria for Promotion

The government has explicitly outlined the criteria for eligibility, stipulating that only teachers with a minimum of five years of service will qualify for promotion. An order issued by Basic Education Council Secretary, Pratap Singh Baghel, on October 15 made it clear that teachers completing five years of service by September 30, 2023, will be considered for promotion. Notably, this criterion now includes the 68500 newly recruited teachers, broadening the scope of this promotional opportunity.

Procedure and Requirements

Teachers seeking promotion must furnish a certificate, verifying the accuracy of the seniority list, to the Block Education Officer (BSA) for upload. The seniority lists were previously uploaded on the Manav Sampada portal by July 24. However, in several districts, including Prayagraj, teachers appointed since 2009 had not received promotions. The issue of teacher promotions has been a topic of discussion over the past six months, with prior orders issued earlier this year. Teachers affected by the delay in promotions have reported financial losses averaging between two and a half to three thousand rupees every month.

The planned promotions are expected to alleviate the long-standing concern among educators and demonstrate the government’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding their dedication to the education system.
