Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress today, highlighting the staggering cash haul discovered during tax raids on a Congress MP in Odisha. This record-breaking amount said to be the largest ever recovered by an investigative agency in India in a single operation, amounted to ₹353.5 crores.
Income Tax officials unearthed the substantial sum during raids on various properties linked to MP Dheeraj Sahu. Videos and photos from the operation depicted stacks of cash on the floor and within numerous cabinets, all meticulously counted using multiple machines.
In a satirical move, the BJP shared a spoof video titled “Congress Presents the Money Heist,” a play on the popular show’s name. The video cleverly incorporates visuals of the seized cash from the Congress MP, set to the original background score of Netflix-produced ‘Money Heist.’ Notably, the video also features images of the Congress MP alongside party president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Rahul Gandhi.
Posting the video on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi commented, “Why look for ‘Money Heist’ fiction in India when the Congress Party’s legendary heists have been ongoing for 70 years!”
