Silva was born to Fernando Jiménez and Eva Silva in ArguineguÃn, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. Jiménez was a former municipal police officer who eventually became responsible for the safety of the Valencia CF stadium.
The Canarian media claimed that his father, Fernando, is Spanish (Canarian) while his mother, Eva, is of Japanese descent. UD San Fernando’s youth team is near Maspalomas where Silva began playing football.
He played as a goalkeeper originally, before becoming a winger. As a youth, he mirrored his game around his footballing idol, Michael Laudrup.
