Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has revealed an extraordinary achievement in India’s defence sector, with exports crossing the unprecedented mark of Rs 21,000 crore for the first time. This significant milestone, achieved during the financial year 2023-24, demonstrates a remarkable growth rate of 32.5% compared to the previous fiscal year.
Singh attributes this remarkable feat to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose guidance the Defence Ministry has implemented various initiatives to bolster India’s defence manufacturing capabilities and enhance exports. He lauds the collective efforts of defence industries, including the private sector and Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), for their commendable performance in contributing to this achievement.
The surge in defence exports underscores India’s growing stature as a key player in the global defence market. The Defence Ministry’s concerted efforts, coupled with the capabilities and contributions of stakeholders, have propelled India towards becoming a significant exporter of defence equipment and technology.
Rajnath Singh extends his congratulations to all stakeholders involved in this milestone achievement, emphasizing the pivotal role played by the defence industry in advancing India’s self-reliance and strengthening its position as a reliable supplier of defence products and services worldwide.
