In a bid to promote safer road practices and reduce traffic-related incidents, the Road Safety Cell of Delhi Traffic Police conducted an awareness drive at the Jhandewalan Chowk Intersection. The initiative aimed to educate commuters on essential traffic rules and etiquette.
Delhi Traffic Police emphasized the significance of adhering to traffic regulations, including the proper use of indicators, following lane discipline and respecting traffic signals. Commuters were also advised on the importance of not using high beam lights, which can cause glare and visibility issues for other drivers, thereby contributing to accidents.
Moreover, the awareness campaign focused on promoting fuel-saving practices, such as maintaining optimum tire pressure, avoiding unnecessary idling, and adopting fuel-efficient driving habits. These measures not only help in conserving fuel but also contribute to reducing vehicular emissions and environmental pollution.
“The Road Safety Cell engaged with commuters to highlight various dos and don’ts of road safety, including the importance of wearing seat belts, and helmets, and adhering to speed limits. Additionally, pedestrians were reminded to use designated crosswalks and footpaths, while cyclists and motorcyclists were encouraged to wear protective gear”.
By sensitizing commuters and raising awareness about road safety measures, Delhi Traffic Police aims to foster a culture of responsible driving and pedestrian behavior. Such initiatives play a crucial role in minimizing road accidents and ensuring the safety and well-being of all road users.
