The Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) is actively joining the “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” initiative as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign on October 1, 2023. With a total of 811 identified events across the nation, DFPD, along with its attached offices & PSUs, is taking part in this nationwide cleanliness drive.
Under the guidance of Secretary, Shri Sanjeev Chopra, DFPD will lead a cleanliness drive at Meharchand Market and Unknown Soldier Park in Lodhi Colony, New Delhi, with the Meher Chand Market Association also participating.
The officers and staff of the Food Corporation of India and Central Warehousing Corporations, along with the PSUs under the Department, will conduct cleanliness activities in Bengali Market, residential areas, and nearby schools in Mayur Vihar, Phase-1, Pkt-2, New Delhi.
The Warehousing Development Authority will focus on cleaning Hauz Khas Market and its park area, while the National Sugar Institute has selected Parmat Ghat at Civil Lines, Kanpur, for the drive.
DFPD and its PSUs/Institutes will collaborate with RWA members, local market associations, and Mandirs/Ghats functionaries for this grand event. A total of 811 sites have been earmarked for the cleanliness drive, with over 13,000 officers and officials from the Department, PSUs, and Institutes expected to participate.
To ensure the seamless execution and success of all activities, the Department has appointed a Joint Secretary-level nodal officer to oversee the campaign’s preparation and the day’s events on October 1, 2023, throughout India.
