Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Performs Bhoomi Poojan for NCERT Auditorium

Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, performed the ‘bhoomi poojan’ for a new state-of-the-art NCERT auditorium, set to accommodate around 900 people. The event marked a significant step toward enhancing educational infrastructure and accessibility across India.

MoU Between NCERT and Flipkart for Seamless Textbook Distribution

Pradhan presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NCERT and e-commerce giant Flipkart. This collaboration aims to ensure the affordable availability of NCERT textbooks across the nation, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Flipkart will leverage its platform to deliver NCERT publications to urban and rural areas, ensuring last-mile connectivity.

Google Learning Centre Inaugurated to Empower Teachers

Pradhan also inaugurated the Google Learning Centre, designed to enhance teachers’ digital skills. The center, equipped for 40 participants, includes advanced tools focusing on AI and other digital platforms. This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of educators and bridge the digital divide in education.

Launch of PM eVidya and NISHTHA Modules

Dharmendra Pradhan launched 200 YouTube channels for simulcast of PM eVidya DTH TV Channels, making quality educational content accessible nationwide. Additionally, he released the NISHTHA Integrated Teacher Training Modules and initiatives like NISHTHA-ET, Kaushal, and EduLeader, which aim to empower teachers with innovative learning tools.

Pradhan’s Vision for NCERT as a Research University

During his address, Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized NCERT’s evolving role, describing it as Bharat’s academic cornerstone. As NCERT transitions into a research university, he highlighted its responsibility to integrate content development, syllabus design, and pedagogical innovations. Pradhan urged NCERT to adopt best practices and locally-driven content to prepare India’s youth for the challenges of the 21st century.

These initiatives, including the MoU with Flipkart and the inauguration of digital learning tools, align with the Government of India’s mission to democratize education. Dharmendra Pradhan’s vision reflects a commitment to empowering teachers and students alike, strengthening the foundation for inclusive and technology-driven learning in Bharat.
