Shri Sonowal, also the MP of Dibrugarh, was briefed on the deteriorating flood conditions affecting both the city and the wider constituency. With the Brahmaputra river surpassing the danger mark early morning, severe flooding has inundated numerous areas, prompting immediate government response.
Government Measures and Directives:
In response to the ongoing torrential rains exacerbating the situation, the Union Minister instructed officials to implement immediate emergency measures. Efforts are underway to minimize damage and provide essential relief to affected communities.
Collaborative Efforts and Stakeholder Engagement:
During discussions, Shri Sonowal engaged with key stakeholders including Sanjay Kishan, Minister of Tea Tribes Welfare and Labour Welfare, and MLA of Tinsukia LAC, along with Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, and Guardian Minister of Tinsukia & Dibrugarh districts. Plans are in place for the Guardian Minister’s visit to assess the impact and oversee relief operations.
