Diego Forlán Corazo, a former professional football player who played as a forward, is now a manager. Forlán is a two-time winner of both the Pichichi Trophy and the European Golden Shoe at the club level and is regarded as one of the best forwards of his generation.
He had huge individual success at the 2010 World Cup with the Uruguay national team, finishing as the joint-top scorer with five goals, including the goal of the tournament. Before joining the Argentine club Independiente, Forlán began his career in his native Uruguay as a youth player with Peñarol and Danubio.
Early Life:-
Forlán, born in Montevideo, is the son of former player and Uruguayan international Pablo Forlán. He attended English language schools and was a tennis player in his youth in addition to football.
He has been a fan of Peñarol since he was a boy. Diego Forlán Corazo decided to follow the occupation of his father in playing football when his sister Alejandra was involved in a horrific car accident, which killed her boyfriend and left her in intensive care for 5th months.
She was handicapped thereafter. Forlán was brought to France by manager László Bölöni in 1995 and spent several months on trial at AS Nancy. However, Forlán returned to South America after the club opted against signing him.
